Remi is the gentlest young Lab that anyone might ask for. She gets along well with, and plays constantly with all pets in her foster home, which include two senior cats and a very energetic 2-1/2 year old Chocolate Lab and former TSBR foster (Jubal a.k.a. Hawk). She knows and responds well to basic obedience commands…come, sit, lay down, go kennel, stay/wait, get out of the kitchen; and she shakes either paw when she feels like it. She is a lap baby and only rarely jumps on visitors. She loves her daily walks and playing catch with and retrieving a thrown rubber ball and would do very well with an older person walking (she does not pull and usually walks within a few feet of her foster on a loose lead) and/or possibly a runner. Remi crates readily, sleeps quietly in her fosters bedroom at night uncrated, and generally has the run of the home when her foster is there. They have not yet reached the point where she can be left unsupervised when no one is home– even with plenty of toys out and Jubal there to keep her in line –as her fosters new $60 replacement pair of x-training tennis shoes can attest. Remi has demonstrated at our events that she meets and does well with small children; however, her foster feels that she would be best matched in a home with older children only, or possibly with an older or single adult, as she seems to prefer a quieter environment and definitely is easily startled when she hears unexpected, sharp, and loud noises. She has been an easy foster so far, and her foster has have enjoyed having her as a guest in his home.
