Zuma’s zoomies went terribly wrong, and she ended up on the wrong side of an automobile. To make matters worse, her people never came to her aid or to get her to safety. So she sat severely injured, waiting. A Good Samaritan reportedly came along, and Zuma thought things were looking up, but instead of a trip to the emergency vet, the nice people took her to the shelter where she sat in pain. TSBR immediately committed to this precious girl, and she was taken to surgery at the shelter. She has had her soft tissue wounds surgically repaired and drains placed, and she will remain hospitalized until Friday. The drains have been removed and she is healing nicely. She has seen the orthopedic team to determine if there are any additional leg injuries and she was clear of other fractures. She did have a very bad fracture and pulp exposure to her upper canine that required dental surgery. She is healing nicely and we anticipate her being available to begin meeting around 9/5. We all know young Labs can be ornery and mischievous, but Zuma deserves to learn happier lessons in her future, including how to zoom zoom safely!
