Gunter "Gunny"
Everybody loves him...
amazing, sweet, silly, lovable, clown boy. A three-year old English Pointer, Gunter was kept chained under a table, in a hole from 8 weeks to 2 years old.
This boy is nearly perfect - loves dogs and people - house and crate trained - knows basic commands and walks great on a leash - even knows a few tricks (like spinning the lid off the food bin) to let you know it's dinner time (or not!)!
These are just some of the conditions we receive dogs with. Your contributions to our “Special Needs” fund is the lifeline that helps us save these amazing dogs!
...we are forever grateful to Denton County Animal ER and Texas Sporting Breed for all they did to try and keep him with us!!!

What is a sporting breed?
Meet the breeds...
Naturally active and alert, Sporting dogs make likeable, well-rounded companions. Members of the AKC Sporting Group include pointers, retrievers, setters and spaniels. Remarkable for their instincts in water and woods, many of these breeds actively continue to participate in hunting and other field activities. Potential owners of Sporting dogs need to realize that most require regular, invigorating exercise.
Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. (TSBR) is a State of Texas non-profit organization and is a public charity recognized as exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3).
